October 14, 2026
As climate-related events such as flooding, wildfires, landslides and extreme precipitation become more frequent, geohazard management continues to evolve.
In 2025, the CER's Pipeline Integrity team hosted a Pipeline Geohazards Workshop, bringing together regulated companies, industry specialists and regulators to share knowledge and discuss emerging geohazard challenges.
Key topics and takeaways from the workshop included:
- lessons learned from recent incidents
- monitoring and risk assessment approaches
- climate-related challenges and impacts
- new research and emerging technologies
- prevention and mitigation strategies
Collaboration and knowledge-sharing help strengthen preparedness across the regulated community. Thank you to everyone who helped make these conversations possible. For more information, please see our Summary of the CER Pipeline Geohazards Workshop.
