Trans Mountain Pipeline Interim Tolls Update

The CER Commission has approved Trans Mountain’s extension request, allowing the regulatory proceeding for its Interim Tolls Application to remain paused. [Filing C38691].

On March 25, 2026, Trans Mountain filed a second update on its negotiations with Firm Service Shippers [Filing C38650]. Trans Mountain has indicated that it is continuing to negotiate with Firm Service Shippers to reach a toll settlement and that it plans to hold an Open Season to evaluate increasing the level of firm contracting on the Trans Mountain Pipeline System. If the Open Season is successful, Trans Mountain intends to finalize a toll settlement with its Firm Service Shippers and file an application to the Commission seeking approval of both the settlement and the Open Season.

The Commission has directed Trans Mountain to submit either an application for approval of a settlement and the Open Season, or a request to resume the current Application by July 13, 2026, to both the Commission and the List of Parties to the RH-002-2023 proceeding.
